While I'm no fan of LEDs but my local Lowes replaced all of the interior of the store with LEDs and I think they do a great job. Don't know what kind of fixtures they are but they do a very good job.
This is the fourth time that this store has replaced it's lighting since it was built 20 years ago.
Originally it was high bay MH which I hated as the light was to strong and harsh. It's a home center not an operating room.
Then they used 2 different kinds of high bay fluorescents. The only difference was the amount tubes they had. Both worked fine so I think the LED change was unnecessary but it worked out.
Strangely enough they left the parking lot HPS.

Nah, the shoeboxes and wallpacks in the parking lot are still HPS. I was surprised as the parking lot lights are 1000W HPS.
Yeah. The ones here have 1000W HPS too. @Morbid Angel, same here, I think the lights do a good job. They are a little glarey but I don’t stare at them. They left their 1000w MH shoeboxes alone though.

Today I went up to the Sandwich fair again only to find that ALL of their incandescent lights were still up! Some had LED bulbs because that's what Sandwich is doing to their lights as they go out. At the fairgrounds I saw: - An LED retrofitted Powrbracket blinking and turning off occasionally. - A MH lowbay or highbay that was "pulsing". The lamp almost looked like it slowly dimmed and came back, all in a split second.

So a year old traffic signal pole in Belmont was knocked down by a car and a new temporary pole was put up and a 250w HPS M250R2 FCO was put up! I took a photo with my phone because I didn't have my camera on me, I'll try to get back there to get a pic of it with my digital camera.

CreeRSW207 - That's cool! A similar thing happened over here a few years ago but the HPS light is still going strong. It was a new pole and new light though. It was a light for an intersection but there were no signals on it. There was nothing there for a while until a new pole and light suddenly showed up. The new light is grey and the pole is black.

Interesting! Concord has lots of black poles with grey lights. I don't think it will be up too long due to the fact that an excavator was on site and the base for the new pole has been installed. It would be cool to see them put up a poke with a light arm as the old pole had no streetlight arm.

Let's just hope they keep it as a temporary light for the future.

Maybe they'll put it up one the new pole! It would be cool if that light was a permanent installation.

This was yesterday but the CalTrans system I saw a new pole put up with a new pedestrian signal, button, and ERL2 installed, replacing a violent knockdown on a bridge and more Solarmax SMXs replacing Leotek E-Cobras.

This was actually last night just before getting into bed. I finally found the French traffic signal blubs that we've spent ages looking for hiding under it. Now, where's that relieved smiley.??

Since my city can’t afford to replace intersections still lit with HPS to LED, they have began to spot replace the HPS fixtures with LEDs when the parts such as when the igniter fails. If it’s the lamp they’ll still relamp them. Recently, one of the M-400A2s near my house quit and after a month being out, got replaced by a Leotek GCM in 4000K.

@Econolite03 - That is starting to happen in my city with the remaining HPS lights as well. In fact, that exact same situation happened recently here too, except the replacement LED light was a GE Evolve.
