Looking for H-33 high bay « on: May 11, 2020, 04:47:10 PM » Author: RadiantMV
I'm looking for a high bay that can be used with a 400 watt H-33 mercury lamp. The ballast should have a plug on the end for easy use. Thanks!

Check your local craigslist for 400w metal halide high bay lights. They can run 400w mercury lamps too. If it's pulse start you'll have to disconnect the ignitor but otherwise it will be fine.

Anything M-59 or H-33 will work with no modifications.

If it's pulse start the ballast code will be something other than M59. You can also open up the ballast enclosure and see if there's an ignitor.

400w Pulse start would be M155. The easiest way to tell the ballast type is to ask the seller to take a picture of the fixture nameplate. I find a lot of local sellers will mistake MH for MV or even HPS at times.
