Zero 88 Lighting Controls Rule!
|
Why sometimes do you see a really dim HPS streetlight? You think it would just cycle and then die? Do noncycling ones dim out like this?

The future of street lighting is Induction, not nasty HPS lights or cr@ppy LED lights! Preheat CFL's should make a comeback!

It could be a bad capacitor causing the light to be dim.

Possibly sodium leakage darkening the outer bulb too. I suppose the arctube can blacken as well.

There is a dim HPS streetlight I see every mornings on my way to school. Also it has been that way for at least a year.

I would think that the bulb is leaking because I have a Philips ALTO that is leaking and it is dimmer then it should be.
