Experiences with running European low watt HPS in USA « on: October 27, 2020, 03:18:49 AM » Author: WorldwideHIDCollectorUSA
Has anyone besides me had any experience running European HPS lamps from 35w-150w on US ballasts. In my experience, I had no issues running Osram NAV-T 70w Super 4Y HPS lamps on US 70w M98 pulse start MH ballasts. In addition, I had no problems running European Venture 100w SON-T lamps on US 100w M90 pulse start MH ballasts as well. In addition, I also had no problems running other European low wattage HPS lamps on US low wattage pulse start MH ballasts as well such as a 70w internal ignitor Osram lamp on a US M98 pulse start MH ballast WITH the ignitor disconnected from the circuit. In these experiments, I only used HX magnetic ballasts and electronic ballasts. I had the idea of performing these experiments after seeing that some European members often say that American low wattage pulse start MH bulbs are compatible with European HPS chokes.

It is officially rated to work that way, so no reason why it should not...
