It depends on the fixture. Personally I prefer ceramic lampholders, but brass ones are good too. I wouldn't use the cheap and nasty ones that are used in domestic fittings here, though.

Ceramic B22 socket for Sox lamps can be bought at Light bulb Depot.   Or even 1000 bulbs

You can also get ceramic B22 sockets for cheap on the UK eBay if they ship to the USA.
