Scared me off my chair.  :o These Xenon Arcs are dangerous. It is safer to handle a WWII Grenade than a used Xenon Arc.

Why I like LEDs on top of other lighting tech?
LEDs = Upgrade 95% of the applications. (That is if you avoid eBay's LEDs).

LED brainwash? No, people uses them cuz they work well for them.

That guy is extremely lucky - that bulb could have been the last thing he ever saw :o

This illustrates the importance of safety when handling pressurised objects - it says 'wear hand and face protection' on the packaging for a reason!

What kind of lamp is this?

The future of street lighting is Induction, not nasty HPS lights or cr@ppy LED lights!
Preheat CFL's should make a comeback!

This does not look as lamp at all, at least not yet assembled - what i see there are two glass blowing pipes, with (likely) glass-blower on each side and a result of their effort (quite big glass bubble) in the middle...

In fact the lamp is filled with xenon  ;) I suppose the lamp is really dangerous because the lamp is filled at a relatively high pressure...
