So today I was driving on the highway, in one of the sections where the streetlights are still primarily HPS. I noticed that one section was all lit although it was the middle of the day, so I figured there were people somewhere checking the streetlights and I started to pay attention.
Then down the road, I was stopped at a traffic light and I saw a bucket truck on the side of the road. The guy in the bucket had opened the door on a GE M-400A2 Powr/Door, and he was doing something with the bulb, while a guy on the ground had the door on the bottom of the pole base open and was messing with the wires. When I came back by, the bucket was lowered and the door on the fixture was closed again. I guess they were trying to figure out why it wasn't lighting. The truck wasn't from the power company though, it had the county seal on it instead.
Also a few weekends ago I saw a guy in a bucket truck from the power company working on some LED floodlights.
It's interesting because I never really see anyone working on the streetlights here.
Plus I've been seeing a lot of power company bucket trucks in my area lately. I can't figure out what they're all doing here. But there are trucks everywhere lately.
