I wonder if anybody ever mistakenly thought that Canada uses 220-240V 50Hz AC mains and European specification lighting due to some people thinking that only the USA is the only country that uses the 120V 60Hz AC standard for its lighting?

Very probable. Up here in Canada, the cold obliges us to use 230V in our igloos because of the year-round cold and snow.

There are those people who then mistakenly think that those lamps ONLY work on 220-240V ballasts and NOT 120V autotransformer ballasts.
