OV-50 is for 1000 watts...and yes it's HUGE bigger than the OV-25.....
I have a OV-15 and OV-12 and OV-14B and they all are smaller than the OV-25
There are 3 generations of OV-25

Believe it or not, the OV-50 is actually the same length and width as the OV-25! The upper half is basically the same design, but modifed for the large ballasts and optics. The doors are of course different.
Actually there are 4 generations of the non powr-door OV-25! The flat bottomed is of course 1957-1963, the second generation is 1964-1969, the third generation is 1970-1978 (It's the same as the 1964 model but the PC is moved even farther back), and the 4th generation is 1979-1985 (the square, compact OV-25). The Tudor was often dubbed as the third generation Silverliner, but it's more of a seperate line designed to compete with GE's successful PowrDoor luminaire. It's still a Silverliner, technically. The Tudor was made from 1970 to 1985. Crouse Hinds bought Westinghouse in 1982 but the Tudor and 4th generation OV-25 continued until 1985.

Yep I have seen your pics of the flat bottomed OV-25. I see that the sticker has BOTH the old and new Westinghouse logos! The dot W logo came out in April 1960. So I agree with Tudor, it's around 1960-1961.

I love older American cars as well. I own a 1975 Plymouth Valiant with a bulletproof 225 CID slant six that still runs very well. It's good on gas too, very important during a time when gas costs $3 per gallon. My car is also smog exempt. so no worries about inspections either.

Yeah I had a feeling Crouse Hinds bought out The Westinghouse lighting and merged McGraw-Edison into Crouse Hinds. Crouse Hinds (Affiliated by EATON) later moved there streetlighting department to Cooper Lighting (also affiliated by EATON). Cooper Lighting also has McGraw-Edison into their brand under the Cooper Lighting name all managed by EATON.

6500K Color Temperature Kelvin lighting works for me. I use 6500K CFL in all my incandescent light fixtures. I use 6500K Flurescent bulbs in my flurescent fixtures. I hope prices get better and hope I find 6500K LED lighting in the future. I love energy efficient and Energy Star products. Way to go!
