Other loves are printers/scanners/copiers, A/Cs

Link (Original hebrew article)The article gives the impression that the LED lamps emits toxic materials to the air, where in fact, their toxic materials are solid, so they can't harm to the users, but only to the landfill when they are disposed, and to the environment both during manufacturing and disposal. Several of the materials described as toxic (Copper), aren't toxic at all actually, and are very common in simple things like electric wires.

I"m don't speak English well, and rely on online translating to write in this site. Please forgive me if my choice of my words looks like offensive, while that isn't my intention.
I only working with the international date format (dd.mm.yyyy).
I lives in Israel, which is a 220-240V, 50hz country.

"Breathing the vapors from one broken lamp"
They basically copied the CFL article (that was plain fear propaganda against CFLs in the first place) and search-replaced CFL to LED.....

I'm felt this before, but I wasn't sure if this was really the case.

There really screams the order from the newspaper sales to write a "shocking article" really at any expense.
From that the only questionable material there, with any electronic, is the lead. The ROHS directives have restricted it's use, but at first some uses are exempt (implantable electronic, high-rel applications; I'm not sure whether the traffic signals belong to the High rel or not here) and some time ago the exemption allowed the lighting. Ironically the article haven't mentioned the other most prominent toxines used in the past in the electronic: Mainly the halogens in the flame retardants, nearly in all plastics. But these are getting replaced as well (by some mineral filers like ground limestone or so)...

Who heard about them ?
The writers heard about nickel so they mentioned it - Nevermind that the bath towels they keep on a nickel plated rack and use every day, is by far more likely exposure source than plating on the screw cap of the LED lamp....
