HID, LPS, and preheat fluorescents forever!!!!!!

| Does anyone know if a SLI/H lamp with braided electrodes can be used on a rapid start ballast? Or does the ballast have to be a preheat/switchstart ballast?

| I dont think these would properly heat the cathode on HO rapid start, but it worth the try. That one of my ideas using 8 ft HO
2 lamp rapid start to test them out.

No LED gadgets, spins too slowly. Gotta love preheat and MV. let the lights keep my meter spinning.

| It depends on the lamp. Some are designed for pre-heat and some were designed for instant start. The 140W lamp for example was intended to be used on a 90W SOX leak transformer, with no pre-heat. I run mine with one of these and just one wire to each end. By contrast, I believe the 60W lamps were intended for switch-start circuits.

| I run my 200W tube on a VHO 215W Rapid Start ballast on proper specs.
