He knows so much about lamps...I like how he sometimes posts long-winded, interesting, technical comments. He also is a great guy from what I know.Three cheers for Globe Collector, the Tasmanian Encyclopedia Brown of lamps!

I often find his technical rambles quite interesting to read.

Many of these people have terabytes of lamp related knowledge in their brains just waiting to be asked about. I would really love it for these people to write a book/online about all of these technical lighting topics, but that seems logistically very tough.

Lamptech.co.uk can only go so far because it is only by @James, one human person can only do so much. LG can only go so far because it includes people like me who don't really know what we are talking about. If we had some sort of collaborative online resource by all of the lighting lords on LG I think that would be the key to passing on lighting knowledge to younger people like me. People like @Globe Collector are prime candidates for contributing to a resource like this, but again this resource doesn't exist yet. Maybe we should actually do that, idk.

But this also seems like an excellent recipe to start a fight on whether or not a specific member should be allowed to contribute to the resource, so maybe not such a good idea in a community as polarizing as this one. Whatever.
