Actual Timeline of GE fixtures and designs « on: April 04, 2009, 03:15:42 PM » Author: TudorWhiz
GE M-250 (1959-1960): Original GE M-250 which had the same body as GE M-400 but came with polycarbonate refractor. All are silver.

GE M-250R (1960-April 1970) Smaller design and first design came with a button without a thumb latch and was silver. Later versions had thumb latch and came out in grey also.

GE M-250R1 (May 1970-1985) Similar design as the 1960s GE M-250R but redesigned the slipfitter design and a bail latch. The 80s version had drip holes on the bottom.

GE M-250R2 (May 1985-present): more compact design and more simple design...

Correct, if you look at the album Arcblue posted of a GE M-100 and GE M-250R....that's what they called it....GE M-250R and it was introducing those 2 fixtures and the M-100 had a clear ended BT lamp in it in the photo....by 1970 GE didn't offer those...and of course GE adversizements would use their own lamps LOL! And GE M-100 ended somewhere in the early 70s

Hopefully those models can use 6500K color temp bulbs CFL, LED, etc. in them. I do like if I can buy Energy Efficient/Energy Star products.

6500K Color Temperature Kelvin lighting works for me. I use 6500K CFL in all my incandescent light fixtures. I use 6500K Flurescent bulbs in my flurescent fixtures. I hope prices get better and hope I find 6500K LED lighting in the future. I love energy efficient and Energy Star products. Way to go!
