Your Firework Videos « on: July 05, 2026, 05:40:36 AM » Author: suzukir122
Have you taken videos of your fireworks? If so, post them here!

I've taken videos of the fireworks at Delco Park, with a little added commentary from me and my friends. I've also taken video of all of us doing fireworks in the neighborhood afterwards, with additional added commentary. When I have the time, I will post those videos here.

Fireworks are banned in Australia sadly, though where I live (the capital city) was one of the last places to ban them, maybe ten to fifteen years ago. Everyone still has em, but usually we just go to the bush to set them off, or just from wherever.

@Baked bagel 11  :o... I never knew that! Then you'll definitely enjoy the videos I have. Especially the firework finale at Delco Park.

I don't think I've taken any video of fireworks aside from something on my phone but I did take some nice stills of them about a couple of years ago.

@joseph_125, I typically don't take video of fireworks either lol... this was a rare occurrence. One thing that also influenced me to go ahead and take video is the fact that there was a strong thunderstorm in view, literally right next to the fireworks show... lightning and fireworks, right next to each other. That storm was moving to the left, away from the scene, which made it that much more interesting.

I woulda been all all about videoing that thunderstorm...if there happened to be fireworks there too, then thats a bonus! .lol.

I did actually watch/video fireworks show on the 3rd...I was on the roof doing something else, & had brought the camera+tripod with me just incase any of the little cells around fired off a lightning show, and also incase that fireworks show actually happened (wasn't sure if they were gonna do it)...
The video might eventually end up on YouTube, but its gonna be awhile before I can get to it.

Didn't shoot off any fireworks of my own on the 4th because we're under fire ban here (no firepits/campfires/charcoal or wood bar-b-que's/fireworks/etc.) Though I did see plenty of people violating the fire ban with fireworks that night. The county apparently received hundreds of calls on violations .lol. (with the fire ban, professional fireworks displays like the one mentioned above had to be approved individually on a case-by-case basis)

I did do some (single-color) strings of red, white, blue lights though. So lights were my 250 celebration.

@xmaslightguy, Colorado banned fireworks too? That's really unfortunate, but at least you still got to see a fireworks show! Fireworks are
so awesome and so worth videoing.
That strong storm to the left was definitely setting off fireworks of it's own, so it was epic seeing fireworks and the thunderstorm literally
right next to each other. That was so awesome... Saturday, July 4th, thunderstorm, fireworks... the best moment of 2026 so far.
Also got to see the Metal Halides for the baseball field (I think it was a baseball field but not sure) fire up. Extreme mass start up... but
unfortunately I didn't get to stick around to watch THOSE fireworks, since I was more focused on continuing to hang out with my friends whom
I hadn't seen in a few years. But I absolutely will stick around, and even record, those Metal Halides firing up next year after the fireworks show.

@suzukir122:
Its actually a fire ban in general, so not only fireworks... and just certain counties (plus basically anywhere in the mountains).
We're in a bad drought here, and there's multiple large wildfires up in the mountains. So everyone needs to be careful.
Once the drought eases, the fire bans will be rescinded.
For personal fireworks, anything that explodes or leaves the ground have always been banned here, but the standard stuff fountains/spinners/sparklers/smokebombs/etc are allowed in a normal year.

Yep, and I didn't even have to leave home to watch it. :) (up close in the park where its held is really cool, but the traffic up there that night is something I have no desire to deal with. .lol.) where I'm at is a pretty perfect spot for viewing it though!

I saw a few lightnings on the night of the 2th from a very small cell (I'd specifically went out to see if there'd be anything from it), also saw a fireworks show off in the distance that night.
Overall this year there's been very little in the way of storms(not that we get many anyway, but the drought is making it worse). We'll see if "monsoon season" fires up in a couple weeks, or if its a dud like last year.

Sounds like that storm & fireworks you saw was awesome double-show to see.
And mass MH startup would be cool!! I saw the ballfield lights come on in that park where the fireworks were, but they're LED so just turn on.

I took a brief look at my fireworks vid (while sorting photos & videos) this evening & looks like it turned out good enough. so at sometime later when I'm done with others, I'll have to look at maybe editing & posting to YT.

@xmaslightguy, It's a shame those lights were LED. Absolutely none of the hundreds and hundreds of lights that popped on for the ball field here, were LED.
That was incredible and it caught me off guard, because of course, I expected LED crap. That was a lot of them... I'll have to see if there may be a way
that I can see them start up outside of July 4th. Not sure how though... maybe a volleyball game with friends? (I think the volleyball court is also lit with
them as well.)
And I'm glad it's just a temporary ban for the drought. Very understandable though since fires can and will spread easily in drought prone areas.
I got it on video, of me lighting one "lady bug" firework, before quickly running backwards (almost falling) to get enough space to let it do the spinning
thing that they do. Had some fun commentary in it as well, but I was trying to minimize my flapping mouth, for the video.
I think pretty much every firework we lit up, was the kind legal for Colorado... absolutely none of the fireworks we used were like the kind at Delco Park.
lol!
Don't forget to link your video to here as well, @xmaslightguy8)

Yep. They were MH at one time, but got replaced with LED a number of years ago. There's even a chance the very originals were MV. That I don't remember though.
A mass startup of all those MH's woulda been epic, especially on nights when multiple of the ballfields were in use.

Depending on how far the park is from you, you could always 'just go' on a night when you know there are games or practice going on. Simply to watch the lights fire up. .lol.

Yep.. totally understandable with the drought situation here.

I think I've videoed little fireworks that I set off in the past.. always made sure not to get myself in the picture. (though none of those were ever posted online.)
A couple houses in the neighborhood were setting off stuff similar to what was in the park (illegal ofcourse in CO, but not in WY so people go up there & get it)

Yep, I can post a link when it gets done, if I remember. .lol.

@Mr Lamp, I really like the wave back and forth fireworks... the ones that went from one side to the other... I don't think I saw anything like that at
Delco park. Still an epic show there, although the tree was in the way though!
I plan on uploading my video from Delco Park soon, but beware, I did talk a bit too much. (So did my friends.)
I might also do some editing anyways, to avoid copyright from the music playing in the background of my video.

I used to see those basically every week when I was in the rec league. Extreme mass high watt MH sport lighter start ups. Pretty cool to see. Although they were probe start, so pretty tame -- no flickering or flashing.

I like math, lighting, computers and electronics(but I detest pointless ruinage of nice old stuff). LEDs should be better thought out. they are actually quite good if they are good quality. They should be built to a long life not to a cheap price!

@lightsofpahrump, while we were gathering our stuff and leaving, I don't remember seeing any orange flashing either, but I was more focused
on my friends and keeping up with them as they were leaving. (Can't believe I'm saying that, since Metal Halides firing up is mandatory for
me to watch... I have no problem standing there to watch them start up/warm up. At all. But these were friends I have not seen in a few years,
so I wanted to keep catching up with them... one of which is moving back to her country, Columbia.
