A different fluorescent desk lamp « on: April 10, 2014, 01:42:01 AM » Author: Larry
I have never seen one like this before.
It looks like it has a single push button switch. ???
The bulbs may be old but hard to tell.
Has a nice surface to it.

Single-button manual preheat setups aren't uncommon. My grandfather has an F15 desk lamp with the single button (I gotta find it and get a picture of it someday). I also saw one in a ReStore once (containing what was possibly a GE Mazda 15W White lamp, which I greatly regret not taking out of it and buying. I figured at the time I had to buy the whole lamp, which I didn't have the money for). And then of course, the second-generation Burgess Safari Lite is a single button.

that first one is rather common.moe light.
something to look for is very rare 30's 40's tubes in some of these units.thats how i came up with a few of mine.bought the lamps cheap at yardsales to do 12v conversions.vintage tubes were a bonus.

The top 2. Mine is mid 1950s with 2 lamps. They made one and 2 lamp versions.  The second one is NOT US Navy unless they bought one off the shelf. Mine has the original Sylvania lamps with minimal use.

Weird seeing an Alto in that old Hygrade fixture.

I like my lamps thick, my ballasts heavy, and my fixtures tough.
