Looks like there are different grades of DX out there too, or maybe different quantity applied in the lamp
Back in 2001 when i acquired my first Mercury lantern, i got a lamp for it - Philips HPL-N made in Belgium. The lamp made powerfull Pink glow when starting and good looking light
A while back i dug the lantern out of collection and installed it for use again, but this time with an Osram HQL made in China (the old Philips is saved in collection). The new lamp have much less Pink at startup and its light is a bit colder, and lacks "something" so it seems
