Well, when I let My Well Used Sox Lamp that I let sit for about 4 day without a run up and when I did it came on with a Green Glow. He Warmed Up Okay afterwards though....
Has ANYONE Else have this happen ???  ???  ???

Cathode flare?, was this green glow more of a flash on start up? , some flare right up one leg of the tube, I’ve had one of mine take a fuse out like that!

Isn't Boron glowing green?
And isn't the inner surface layer of the arctube lined with Boron rich glass?
So it may have somehow liberated from the glass into the arc stream and cause the glow, before the Na evaporates enough to take over...

That's a very plausible explanation, I didn't think of that. I've never seen it in any of my lamps.

It was ALL of the Inside Tube, He had been sat Un-Lit for a While...
WISH I had got a Photo But I was Fascinated By it and just sat there Watching it, Might Go and Turn Him on and See IF it Happens Again....
