									| I got an extension cord which has an indicator light inside. Is there a quick way to tell whether it would be LED or Neon?

The light has a lovely flicker like a candle, and it is not a solid light either, it does flicker if I move my eyes. Could this be a neon indicator?

									| A neon lamp will ignite on any polarity (or AC), unlike LEDs. If you have a bridge rectifier laying around that can support the mains AC voltage you could try connecting the cord on both DC polarities. If the indicator lights up only on one polarity, it's probably an LED, otherwise it's likely a neon lamp.

									| The fact that it flickers like a candle is a pretty much guaranteed indication (heh) that it's neon.

Thanks! I always love that flickering effect, is always very charming and gives off a cozy vibe. I should get some illuminated light switches too. 😉

									| Always gotta be neon for me, the only snag with them is they get dimmer over time if they're constantly lit. But yeah, if it's flickering, it's neon.

Got a 20 year old power bar with neon indicators in it, it's almost dead as it can hardly stay on anymore, maybe I should see if I could ever replace it

									| Shouldn't be difficult, neons are easy enough to get on eBay.
