Fast food is one of my downfalls. If it's unhealthy then I love it!

Pizza: Domino's is nice but very expensive. It's rare that I see it but as @suzukir122 mentions, Sbarro is real good pizza.
Tex-Mex: I do like Taco Bell but the portions are small so I always have to order two of what I want which ends up not so cheap. Still need to try out Chipotle.
Sandwiches: Subway is good and I do go there occasionally.
Chicken (my favourite): Nando's is always great, hot or extra hot. Otherwise it is KFC, PopEyes or occasionally Allen's if up in Manchester UK. Waiting to try Chick-Fil-A.
Burger (second fav): Five Guys (excellent but damn expensive), Burger King, Wendy's. Fatburger (Had a few amazing meals there in Los Angeles many years ago at Wilshire Blvd and Crenshaw Blvd).
Breakfast: Greggs and Tim Hortons.

You could add Taco Bueno (they were featured in King of the Hill) to your list, though it may not get any votes.  My last trip there it may have been taco, but it was not bueno.

There's also Taco Time and Filibertos, and for burgers there's Blake's Lottaburger.  That last one is going to have to go on my favorite burger list.

Seafood: Long John Silvers, and Long John Silvers has the ability to hit 10 out of 10, but I rarely go there anymore because the workers absolutely suck.
In terms of seafood, Long John Silvers still remains #1
Pizza: Sbarros = #1. << that was easy.
Chicken: KFC... #1... but, exact same situation as LJS. Horrible workers.
Burger: BJ's Brewhouse... would have been #1, but they got rid of their BBQ Burger that was topped with brisket. AND... I like my burger well done with
no pink. I would always get my burger with pink in it anyways, despite instructions against this. So... as of now I don't have a #1 for burgers, yet.
Breakfast: REALLY close call between Hardees and Crackle Barrel... but Hardees suffers the same situation as KFC and LJS.

The quality of the workers vastly varies by location and the timing. A few years ago, when a brand new McDonalds opened by my house the employees were real jerks, arrogant and honestly would hide in the kitchen and play video games on their phone while trying to fool management like they're working. That was just the first week of its opening, after that those employees were no longer working there and we've had nice employees ever since. I would rather judge a chain holistically rather than just by some employees at a certain location.

I've been to Tim Hortons before, but that's only on travel! It's pretty good and comparable to McDonalds yet its portfolio is a lot smaller in overall scale. I've never been Sbarros before and I'll make a note to try it. So far I've only heard good things!  :)

Interesting post; love it!

Since you're an Arizona resident, I've been seeing a lot of the same places as you have during my time at college here.

Burger places: In-N-Out is my absolute all-time favorite place to go. The company has been gradually improving their ingredient quality. They just eliminated high-fructose corn syrup in their drinks and Red 40 in their strawberry milkshakes, which is a win in my books. Double-double protein style is my go-to order.

Chicken places: Dave's Hot Chicken. Very flavorful and moist chicken with a lot of good side options. Serving portions are generous, too. Cane's is okay, but the chicken needs to be eaten with the sauce. Chick-fil-A has good sides, but the chicken is almost always too greasy. Their ingredients are pretty toxic, too.

Sandwiches: If you've heard of Ike's Love and Sandwiches (mostly in the Phoenix metro area), the one time I went was amazing. They're a bit expensive, though. Jersey Mike's is a distant second.

Mexican: There's a chain called Burros & Fries that's all over Phoenix and San Diego that's very good. I always either get a protein bowl or flautas (taquitos but with flour tortillas). Chipotle is the one I go to the most often since it's delicious and prolific.

Never really liked fast-food pizza. It always taste chemically and has a weird texture; not to mention the fact that it's very greasy and unhealthy looking.

Breakfast: First Watch is extremely good. Good ingredients, good service, and always nice and clean inside. I often go there after church on Sundays with my college friends. IHOP and Denny's both have subpar taste and quality, in my opinion.

Seafood: Not one of my all-time favorite types of food (I'm sensitive to strong fish smell and taste), but back home in Washington state, there's a chain called Ivar's, and the few time I've been, it's been decently good. If you're ever in Seattle, I highly recommend going to the original Ivar's Acres of Clams. It's a full-service, upscaled version of the chain. Food quality is lots better as well.

Fast food is definitely not something I should be eating often, but it's very good every once in a while like you said. I would still prefer a healthy home-cooked meal, though.

Boiler Up, Hammer Down!

I agree with @LightsoftheWest — nothing, and I mean NOTHING beats a good home-cooked meal. I love борщ (borscht), пельмени (dumplings), spanakopita, shrimp scampi with pasta (my all time home-cooked favorite).

If we're talking sandwiches, Wawa is number one. Jersey Mike's is subpar. Sheetz can do fried stuff, but not sandwiches or shakes
Shakes at Wawa are a 10/10 as well.

In terms of hoagies (how us Philly jawns call subs), my go-to is a toasted 10in/classic, mayo, American or cheddar cheese, oven-roasted turkey, lettuce, pickle, and banana peppers, plus some banana peppers to eat on the side while biting into my sandwich. Extra mayo if I'm feeling frisky as well.

On campus, we unfortunately only have a Zaxby's, a Chick-fil-A, and two Starbucks.
Domino's off campus is bad. Papa John's off campus is bad. I don't exactly like chain pizza, though.
At Chick-fil-A, I always get the grilled chicken meal with an 8-count of grilled tender bites. Fills me up enough and isn't as fatty as their breaded chicken.

Sometimes it just takes a little bit of time and a concerted effort to learn something new. Don't give up before you get where you want to go.
