So now they have replaced 20,000 defective LED streetlights and replaced them with fixtures from a company called 'America's Green Line'.

Never heard of them.

Seen them once, their T5HO LED tubes suck. https://www.lighting-gallery.net/gallery/displayimage.php?album=4431&pos=48&pid=133104 & https://www.lighting-gallery.net/gallery/displayimage.php?album=4431&pos=42&pid=133538

Never heard of them either. I hope they didn't get burned again by going with a lesser known manufacturer compared to GE/Philips/AEL/Cooper.

My town has retrofitted about 65% of the lights with Leotek Green Cobra GCJ.  This started in mid-2017.  We have 3000k, and so far, none have failed.  Not sure what is up with E-Cobra, but I am keeping an eye on the LEDs here.  So far, all is good.  We have 3,000k fixtures.  I actually got a Leotek GCJ1-20H mounted in my room.  Now, I don’t use it at even a 1/4 of the frequency that the city lights are used, I just keep it for novelty purposes because.....you guessed it! It was cheap!  The GCJ outside my house was installed December 2018 and mine was manufactured January 2019 in California.

I dunno if the fact that Detroit’s were manufactured in Taiwan has anything to do with it, but I’m glad to hear Detroit is being proactive and not reactive.  One of the very first Leotek GCJ LEDs installed in my town in August 2017 is still operating as if it was brand spanking new (except the paint on the outside is no longer shiny)
