I've had thought for a while now regarding if regular slimline sockets can fit into the socket tracks of a T8 fluorescent tandem fixture. I'll fetch pics tomorrow. The spaces of the T8 socket is a bit narrower then the slimline sockets are, Do i need to do cutting? Thanks!

I did a bi-pin to slimline conversion a a few weeks ago. The socket cutouts for slimline are deeper but are also slightly wider compared to the ones for bi-pin lamps. A steady hand and some tin snips should get you close to the cut out you need, a file can be used to clean up any burrs and the corners.

On some commercial grade striplights, you can flip the socket brackets around for slimline so no cutting needed.

Also if you have a small coping saw for metal, that will probably get you a cleaner cut than snips. In production the holes would be punched out with a die but they're usually custom made for that specific fixture model. 

Interesting, I got none of those materials, but i'll figure a way around it
