HID, LPS, and preheat fluorescents forever!!!!!!
|
As I really enjoy the prospect of collecting F40T12 preheat fluorescent tube fixtures, I am aware that ballasts are bound to fail with time. Because of this, I am interested in trying to acquire some spare NOS brick style 2 lamp F40T12 preheat fluorescent tube ballasts that I can use to maintain my F40T12 preheat fluorescent tube fixtures while maintaining European F36T8 compatibility because I like having the flexibility to use both F40T12 fluorescent tubes and European F36T8 fluorescent tubes in my preheaters whenever I feel the desire to swap between tubes.
Does anyone know the best places where I can source some spare NOS brick style 2 lamp F40T12 preheat fluorescent tube ballasts designed for 120v 60hz mains supplies?
Some examples of those ballasts includes GE’s 58G983 ballasts and Advance’s BRSH-240 ballasts.

Desire to collect various light bulbs (especially HID), control gear, and fixtures from around the world.

Off topic but can you run F40T12 tubes on F36T8 ballasts or on variable output ballasts like Osram QTP-OPTIMAL 2x18-40? As I've found it difficult to get a hold of F40T12 fixtures.

I also have since been finding sources for spare single lamp ballasts too. I am more of a magnetic ballast user in general.

I have seen some single-lamp ones on Ebay, not super common though, I have two links for these. Dual-lamp ones are rare, but I do have the link for a listing if you want it. I don't know your price point, but it is a pretty penny for the dual one. Let me know if you want me to PM them to you.

I have also been considering sourcing some from countries like Brazil and Taiwan where they do have some single lamp ballasts rated between 115V and 127V operation on 60hz line frequency. I would save up for shipping costs too. So far, I do have a decent supply of 4 foot F40T12 fixtures in my collection so far including a couple of 100V 50Hz Japanese reverse Fuji fixtures that each use a pair of single lamp ballasts. I just enjoy having a diverse collection of lighting equipment from all over the world. So far, I had good success using shippn, buyee, jauce, and eBay for international lighting purchases.
