Staffordshire has been undertaking a program of replacing 47000 (of 94000) street lights, according to their website and all the behind-the-scenes documentation i could find. However, even excluding the LED lanterns installed before this program commenced, the replacement rate seems much higher than this. I believe a small amount of SOX, SON, CFL, and CMH still remains though for now. Does anyone know what their plan is? To replace all of the non-LED street lights? Or to keep some? Personally, I hope that they don't replace all of it as it's the last SOX stronghold of the UK and it would be a shame to see all of this go.
