PL lamp adapters? « on: July 26, 2015, 05:23:23 AM » Author: Aveoguy22
who still uses PL adapters in fixtures around the house?  I got a pair of old GE Biax 5-7-9w adapters in use in my room with 9w Philips lamps in them.  strangely you can still buy this type of lamp (just the lamp, not the adapter as well) around here from plain old home depot.

this is also my first post on here. great forum! ;D

Welcome to the club, fellow bulb buddy.  ;D I don't have any pl adapters but I have thought of fabricating my own, like using a metal can and shoving the ballast in and use the lid as a ballast mount. That would be a crude way to do it, but it'll get the job done.  ;)  :a_pl:

I have 4 of the "Orion" adapters, 2 for 18W and 2 for 10/13W (the 4-folded one, same as the 18). Had 2 of them in use couple years back, but now the lights where they were are 1 with a 60W incandescent and 1 with CFL

thanks guys.  I also have a 4 pin, quad tube one somewhere.  the two in the pic came with actual 5w GE Biax lamps in them.  they were well used and still worked but I took them out and stored them away in place of the current lamps.  these were from a St Vincent DePaul store (resale shop, like goodwill) and I got them for 50cents apiece.
