North American 150w S55 HPS lamp operated on wrong gear « on: May 14, 2021, 07:33:09 AM » Author: WorldwideHIDCollectorUSA
Has anyone watched this video of an Australian lighting collector running a North American 150w S55 high pressure sodium lamp on a European standard 150w high pressure sodium ballast?

Here it is:

https://youtu.be/T8J6hpXNSUE

If the North American 55v 3.2a 150w S55 high pressure sodium lamp continues to operate on the European standard Vossloh Schwabe 100v 1.8a 150w high pressure sodium ballast, the ballast will overheat and catch fire. This is something I do not enjoy watching.

Indeed. The low voltage lamp (S55), means higher current through the ballast he use, which is for European and S56 150W HPS lamps.
