In the Toronto Area,  The Gardiner Expressway and the Don Valley Parkway was lined with what I think were Philips LPS fixtures on aluminum davit poles but they were removed in 2006 and around 2001 respectively so no large installation of LPS fixtures is in my area today.

UPDATE: Pedestrian crosswalks in Ontario are illuminated with LPS lamps mounted inside overhead signs.

2ND UPDATE: There is a small section of Highway 401 near Trenton, Ontario lit with LPS.
A Home Hardware store near me has the parking lot lit with LPS.

The gardener expressway was lit with Thorn Alpha 4s back then.

Wasaga beach is filled with LPS fixtures! They are mostly Sylvania Sylvalux Lamps and one street has some Philips Goldfinger 2s

PS could you give me the link on google street view where these LPS lamps on Highway 401 are?

My town of Weymouth used to be lit by LP Sodium until around 15 years ago they were replaced by HPSodium which lasted a few years then these changed out for HPS driven by square wave electronic ballasts. These days a handful of LP Sodium left at the top of lanehouse hill if your interested

Thats some fast lantern replacements....

In an industrial "factory town" somewhat away from here. The place was built in the 80s and lit with 250W HPS on Magnetic gear. Recently they replaced all of it with..... brand new 250W HPS on Magnetic gear. I dont get why they replaced perfectly working lighting, but their choice of new lighting is by far the best they could make

Easley, SC used to be almost exclusively lit with SOX/LPS, but many of the old units have been replaced with LED over the last few years.

I like my lamps thick, my ballasts heavy, and my fixtures tough.

What is sickening here in Weymouth is that when the new electronic ballast sodiums were installed they said that it would reduce power consumption and make it cheaper then a couple of years later they said that all the lights in side streets will be off after 1 am which doesn't make it safe for a girl to be out late lamps on main roads are on all night
