M400 or M-400? « on: June 03, 2021, 09:15:37 PM » Author: LightsoftheWest
There's probably going to be heavy debate on this topic, but do the names of GE cobraheads have hyphens? I have seen both, so I don't know which is correct. I hyphenate the names whenever I write them.

The official paperwork that came with my GE fixtures has hyphens (M-400). I use hyphens, but it probably could be personal preference.

Okay, that's what I thought. I'm also wondering about the hyphens in the NEMA fixtures as well. I think they have them, but I could be wrong.

The paperwork for my GE NEMA interestingly doesn’t have hyphens (goes by 201 SA).

For completely irrational reasons I write GE's streetlight models sans hyphen, it looks prettier.

Feel free to contest that.  :mrg:

That's interesting. I always thought it either had a hyphen or neither hyphens nor spaces.

I've also noticed the names of Westinghouse fixtures with and without hyphens. Whenever I look at Westinghouse catalogs, I see hyphens, so I assume that's correct.

A document for the Westinghouse fixtures has a hyphen too (OV-25).

I've usually used M-400 but sometimes I used M 400 instead.

The same applies for the Westinghouse luminaires.

OV-25 > OV25

M-400 < M400

Yeah, my brain's a mess
