Favorite piece in your collection? « on: March 17, 2022, 05:35:05 PM » Author: RandomCatPerson
What is your favorite fixture/lamp in your collection? Mime would be my 327 for obvious reasons.

Hard to tell but I think my top three are these in no particular order:

Westinghouse OV-10 - 100w MV
Powerlite B2255 - 400w MV
Powerlite Jr. Gumball - 200w incandescent

I have a few favourite items.
In the streetlight category, my Homebrew 400w MV Sylvania Roadster takes out the top spot. I had a great time relocating the MV gear out of it's old shoebox fixture that had seen better days and reinstalling it into the freshly repainted Roadster shell. It now looks and works like new!

My favourite fluorescent tube was a pink F40T10 tube made for the Japanese market. Unfortunately, I accidently broke it when I tripped over. I have ordered an NEC model of the same type to replace it. The title for my favourite tube now goes back to my 2 blue GE F20T12 bug zapper tubes with my brass capped F40T12 ELMA tube coming in at a close second.

I also love the 11 watt Philips Ambience CFL bulbs in cool white and daylight because they look almost identical to 50w MV bulbs when lit.

My favourite incandescent bulb is a 90w Philips bulb that has a carbon filament. It was found in a box of old bulbs given to me by someone doing LED upgrades

Fluro starter pings combined with a 50hz ballast hum and blinking tubes is music to my ears.

All of my fixtures, especially my early AEL 115's, my AEL Series 11 NEMA head, and my low bay lights I have (pictures of the 2nd low bay coming once I replace the cap in it)

My second Mellor style traffic light, with a rare fibre optic arrow. It was a 'spotty' green arrow that gave me my interest in lighting.

LED street lights are bad. Some look good though. HID is better.
Please, watch out for the future. It's not looking good. Loves instruction manuals of any kind!
