Strange bulb with needle on top? « on: May 09, 2022, 09:50:02 PM » Author: refridgedude1841
Came across this odd bulb from Siemens...can't seem to find anything about it.  Anyone ever see one like this?

Very strange. All I can think of is that the metal band around the glass is some kind of anti-vibration device and the needle slots into a little hole that would be inside the original fixture.

Looking through 'Rays of Light', I've found  a 'Magicoal' lamp made by Siemens, but patented by N.M. Berry in the 1920s.  :wndr:

It's a heater lamp with a tungsten vee filament, plus stem tube exhaust and a sharp pin to hold it in place.

It should have a Bayonet Cap and be rated for 200V producing 40W.

The dimensions given are 3" x 4½"

Hope that helps  8) :bulbman:
