Blue spot at end of CFL tube « on: November 06, 2022, 02:13:56 AM » Author: 70HPS
One of my CFLs that has seen lots of usage has a blue spot at one end of the tube. Does this mean it's near EOL?

I like HID, CFLs and incandescents :hps: :cflhd: :a19incan:

Favorite indoor light source: PL Fluorescent (Preferably preheat, maybe rapid start, maybe instant start but instant start is boring)
Favorite outdoor light source: High Pressure Sodium (MV maybe, but HPS is relaxing)

How exactly it looks like? Is it just a small "pinhole", or the whole area around the electrode gets bluish?

Just amall spot alone won't mean anything, maybe just a bit of phosphor flaked off...
