Hi Has anyone got any pictures and information for the leak transformer that was used for only the Thorn 200W SLI/H hight output lamp as if I can find out starting duration & voltages current as these are different to the normal SLI/H lamp might be able to get a leak transformer made as it is very difficult to find an original leak transformer or a 175W CWA metal halide transformer here in the UK any help would be appreciated. kind regards Bob

The specs for the lamp can be found on Lamptech, see here; the tube shown is the 5-leaf version, which seems to be rather rare, but electrically the 4-leaf one should be the same. I've only ever seen one genuine ballast, but I don't have a photo, sadly. If you can actually get one made, get two, I'll have one, as long as it doesn't cost an arm or leg, I need the ones I have

Hi Rommie what I need to know is the starting current and voltage and duration as this lamp is different as you know been a HO it won't work on a pre head start .If can find out that information I might be able to get some made and you will be the first to have one if he can make them for a reasonable cost kind regards Bob

I only know what James says on Lamptech I'm afraid, might be worth sending him a PM..? Mine certainly starts on a 135/180W leak transformer, although it's been a while and I don't recall the figures. It wasn't ideal though, a little under-driven if I recall.
As I said, I run mine on a US 175W CWA MH ballast on a 115V 60Hz inverter, which works for me, but I already had both of those when I got the lamp, so you might not want to spend the extra $$ importing them..!

I do have an original Thorn SLI/H 200W ballast, it is built in quite deep into my ballast cabinet! If you need a photo I will dismantle that. But perhaps instead it would be enough to make some electrical measurements? If you know which parameters you need I can try to measure those at work.

Hello Bob, a difficult search. I only have this information for you from 1973/1974. That looks very modern for the time. Maybe it helps anyway. Source: THORN LIGHTING, Comprehensive Catalogue 1973/74 Regards Olav

Hi James what I need to know is the starting voltage and duration with a lamp connected and what voltage does the ballast produce with the lamp disconnected if that is possible kind regards Bob
