I got a TERRIBLE LED lamp at the thrift store for a whole $0.25. I have already made a video about it, so now I think it's time to destroy it.

How should I destroy it? I want to get a nice pop and some smoke out of it. Should I use my 70w PSMH ballast? It has an OCV of 250 with a 4kV pulse layered on it. Is there any risk of messing up the ballast and or igniter?

If anybody else knows a better way, please let me know!

Neon transformer.

I think the highest wattage pulse-start ballast you have will do just fine for this piece of crud. I highly doubt that it will cause any damage to the ballast or ignitor.

I have already removed the LED components from it and put a little neon indicator lamp inside for use as a nightlight.

I tried to kill the LEDs with a flyback transformer recently, but it mostly just burned them.
If I can dig it out of the trashcan, I’ll microwave it later today.
