On a quick startup its a electronic Ballest shame, but it has lasted me for years scine like 1997 It Think

This adapter must be a newer model than the one I have, mine appears to be made by Thorn before GE bought the lamp division off them. Mine also has a heavy magnetic ballast inside but has an electronic starter so it starts almost instantly.

I've read about electronic ballast versions but never seen one in action until now, cool adapter!
