highest wattage HID wall pack? « on: August 23, 2024, 12:15:52 AM » Author: lightinggalleryuser33450
This is probably a stupid question, but i'm wondering if a 1000 watt HID refactor wall pack fixture exists, the highest wattage i've seen is 400.

Same here on the 400. My thought process is that a 1000W one would just be way too heavy for that kind of application. 400s are even starting to get on the heavy side.

Yeah, that could be why. I have a 400 watt wall pack and it id quite heavy, I haven't weighed it but id guess its about 25 pounds.

I imagine that in the limited application where a 1000W wall pack was needed, there was more than enough room and height to accommodate a standard HID floodlight.

Yeah, in order to accommodate a BT-56 lamp, the proper optics for it and the ballast, a 1kW wallpack would probably be rather large and bulky, and I suppose a wall mounted floodlight or a wall mounted arm and a 1kW cobrahead probably took care of those cases where someone wanted a wall mounted 1kW HID light.

From what I have seen, I think there were probably such things as wall mounted 1000W shoebox luminaires that would likely serve these applications.

Wouldn't really be a wall pack anymore if it was 1000 watts. It would be a wall crate.
