| I know on fixtures with adjustable photocell sockets, the socket is supposed to be rotated, so the window of the photocell faces north. Do most installers bother to rotating it?

| The power company here usually does not adjust them. I feel as I should, but I don't for my own fixtures (out of laziness, probably). I have one pointing pretty much to the west and one pretty much to the south.

| I think most people usually don't anyways. They just put up the light, level it, and call it a day.

| Down here we usually have the photocontrol on the bottom of the light, they just point backwards or sideways. Also UK style photocontrols (both nema and microcell) have the censor pointing vertically.

| I was thinking too how Duke here (and other utilities) are using those smart photocells, which have a clear top like yours do, so rotating the socket doesn’t really matter either.

| Also, there exists GPS "photocells" that do not have any photocell nor any window. They have a GPS and calculate sunrise and sunset with the signal. They are rather expensive and not widely used, however. With these, pointing north is, well, pointless (!)
