Great Craig's list find « on: September 21, 2010, 10:17:15 AM » Author: static1701
I saw an add for a old fluorescent fixture on Craig's list for free. The ad says it was a 6 foot fixture and the power wire is cut so they don't know if it works.

I went to get it, and it turns out to be a very heavy duty 8 foot industrial shop light fixture with one Power Groove and one newer Watt Miser VHO bulb. I had to leave it at a friends house (we used his suv to get it because it would not fit in my car) I have my truck today. Can't wait to get it home and check it out. Over all it looks in great condition. I will have to get another 8 foot PG to make it look right. I will post pictures later tonight (Hopefully with it working)

I love Craig's list...

I use real incandescent Christmas lights, miniature lights from the 70's, C6's from the 50's and modern C7's and C9's. NO ugly LED's! I don't care what it cost. Real Christmas lights and Preheat Fluorescent!

I search Craigslist at least a few times per week for 3 things
"Fluorescent"
"Ballasts"
"Ballast"

Ofcourse allot of what comes up is "spam" selling lights for growing pot

Only thing i've ever gotten was a good price some T12 HO Lamps

That was a helluva nice find!  ;D
@xmaslightguy, try spelling it "florescent" in your search too.  That is the most common misspelling.  I got ten NOS preheat ballasts for $10 apiece on craigslist and two neon beer signs, but nothing else electrical related.
