LPS sure better than LED

LED RETROFIT « on: April 06, 2025, 03:53:02 PM » Author: Eleco_SR304
This is what we should be being doing to all HID Streetlights. Sadly, we can't do it it LPS and Fluorescent fixtures but we can give it a try  :D

More now interested in Polish Street lighting, the country where I come from.

LED fixtures need to stop replacing fine-working streetlights. However, I except retrofits, only if it's done very well.

For today I live in England, so except me posting English fixtures as well.

All from me, 220v-240v

They actually do make retrofits for SOX and Fluorescent.  In my opinion , the biggest reason why fixtures don't get retrofitted is future repair costs . After retrofit , you still have used parts with untold hours on them waiting to fail . (i.e. wiring , sockets , hardware tarnished or damaged reflectors , rusty columns , etc) . Plus , a new install seems to use less watts and produce more light . Also , here where I live  , the utility give financial incentives to replace with entire new systems rater than retrofit .
