MV in 2025!!!

Business Reason? « on: April 28, 2025, 04:19:03 PM » Author: Eleco_SR304
Recently, I believe that the main reason why we don't get the answer to something, is because of business/money.

Same I'm going to start this about our lanterns and light bulbs.

First of all, I want to talk about columns...many new columns are basic? Why? Business everyone business! There is also another way I believe, it's a lot easier instead of creating victorious columns, which I believe are a bit (explict) but at least the designers thought a bit smarter. Simple columns because of business and of course it's easier. At least these Columns could of been created for street lighting.

Second, Bulbs. We are having LED bulbs taking over CFL and Incandescent lighting. We also have long LED fluorescent tubes :DeAtH:   :eoled:   ok, I good now. Of course the ads about LED will make people and manufactures manufacture  LED bulbs a lot + manufactures advertising THEIR LED BULBS  to people e.g.  "Hello everyone, we would like to introduce our efficient bulbs, with using LEDs. Thankfully no mercury or hard metals are used, meaning it's safe for sure. They are efficient than incandescent light bulbs and CFL bulbs, and have a longer life time due to no mercury or metal. They are safe bulbs when they brake, and use plastic covers instead of glass ones, making a lot SAFER!!! Their efficacy is 100lm/1w where as incandescent light bulb have 10lm/1w and CFL have 50-70lm/1w". Well, they could of used other examples, because you are ready to drift off to the shop, buying LED bulbs that flicker even though you believe it's something wrong with your switch. YOU HAVE BEEN DUPED let's say. Business? Sure, for business, and the ads. And a lot cheaper to make flickering light bulbs. You'd rather have incandescent bulbs melting rather than flickering. You'd rather have CFL bulbs burnt out even though you can buy from eBay for £5. What else I need to say?

If I made any in corrections, please correct me. I just want to talk about my opinion guys, that we believe everything is for business. If you have ideas, please share. Let's see what you think.

However I will always stick to business. There is this polish saying: "If you don't what they're doing, it's for business." Maybe a European saying  :mrg:

Usually I collect bulbs (Mostly LED) and some HID ones. I also own a couple of streetlights, but most are made in Poland.

However, I mostly prefer SOX bulbs. LED bulbs in their efficacy will never beat SOX bulbs, in my opinion.

That column that you linked above is an Abacus base hinged column, meaning that it can be lowered down 90° for servicing, removing the need for a MEWP (bucket van), in case you didn't know.
The reason for this column being installed is the powerlines above, being a risk to a worker in a MEWP.

But if you look where the lines are and where the columns are, no near the columns stand the wires.

Oh and by the way, I believe they use 1850k...maybe 2000k. They give the same colour as SOX, but deeper.

From what I can see, there seems to be only one other base hinged column, which is next to the one linked. This one was likely too close to allow full MEWP access.
