Looking for coloured 18/20W 2 foot (600mm) fluorescent tubes :) (And 930 colour) « on: May 22, 2025, 03:22:10 PM » Author: tigerelectronics
Good evening fellow lighting nerds! :) So today my large batch of 2 foot electrical cabinet lights arrived. 11 out of 13 are now here, for some reason two are in a seperate box which has not made it yet. But I hope it will make it here soon. My plan for these lamps is to have some fun, I will install power cords on each one. each one also has a electrical socket on them , which means I can easily daisy chain them :D So this made me want to put them up along the ceiling and put some coloured bulbs into them for fun! But coloured bulbs, are very hard to come by. At least if I want more than just the standard colours, which of course, I do! Preferably, I would like to get my hands on T12 coloured bulbs, because I absolutely loooooooove the looks of those! T8 will do just fine aswell, I am happy with anything I can get basically. I am also looking for some colour 930 2 foot tubes, for very high quality worklight. That seems to be a colour that is very hard to come by too, I can get my hands on 940 relatively easily but 930 seems to be haaaard to get.

So yeah, I would love to buy some mixed colours, and 930 tubes. I am located in sweden, so I am willing to pay a bit extra for shipping if it means I can get some wonderful bulbs!

Send me a message if you are interested, I'll do my best to reply as soon as I can. I work a lot right now, so I cannot guarantee super fast response times.

Best wishes :)

I found 2 in stock at CP lighting UK:

https://www.cp-lighting.co.uk/Philips-2-18W-Master-TLD-De-Luxe-930/

They can ship to customers pretty much anywhere in the world.

I’ll see if I can snag those :) I’ve been looking on eBay and everything and while some are available they’re ridiculously priced. I’m currently in the process of stocking up a lot on tubes, I have found a firm located in the Netherlands I think that sells tubes very cheaply. Their name is Any-Lamp, but they have a Swedish version of their website. You need to browse it in a computer to access the fluorescent tube section, they’re trying to hide them and promote a lot of LED trash. But you can just do a search for Philips TL-D or Osram L and the tubes will pop
Up.  So I bought two boxes of 830 tubes. I’m thinking about buying a few boxes of 840 aswell while I’m at it. It’s like 60 euros per box and I’m stocking up before it’s too late, if EU decides to even ban import of tubes. But so far the ban doesn’t seem too effective, the large electrical suppliers have stopped selling tubes but if you know where to look… there’s plenty of online shops that sell them, new production too. There is a seller on eBay called Glühbirnen shop. They sell new production OSRAM tubes mainly, at very good prices and their shipping has been some of the best! My recent batch of osram tubes were made in china, date stamp something 2024. before osram was always German made. So that makes me wonder, did they perhaps move their production to china in order to evade the “ban”? :) keep in mind the fluorescent “ban” became effective in 2023, so there’s still hope for a little while when it comes to getting new production tubes!

I remembered attempting to stock up on some European T8 fluorescent tubes before the official 2023 EU ban on fluorescent tubes. In addition, I have used “any-lamp” to purchase some PL-L CFL lamps and had them forwarded to me in the USA by one German LG member. Sadly, I have seen lots of EU market fluorescent tubes being marked as “Sold out” during my searches. In addition, I also have used the German eBay to make some purchases on EU market fluorescent and HID lamps before. Have you also tried looking at lamp belgie? They seem to have had a decent selection of EU market fluorescent tubes last I checked.

There's (or at least was 2 months ago - but i assume they won't be sold very fast) a partial carton with about 16x new Philips 36w 930 tubes at Boeldag Hallen, in Koog aan de Zaan: https://www.kringloop-boeldag.nl/
I got one, paid €2,50.
It's where i also got that Daylight Deluxe halo t12 tube from (but there are no more of those)

Perhaps someone will chime in who is prepared to grab them, pack them and ship them to you. I don't have a car, it is a bit too much of a hassle to do it for you, sorry!
I would not ask the thrift shop to ship - they don't usually ship and i wouldn't trust them to pack them well enough to give them a fighting chance at making it to you without breaking.

I'm also considering grabbing them for the groundskeeper at work and have one single gloriously high CRI-lit classroom at work for however long it takes to finally switch those to LED and get rid of the completely random colors of lamps they now use to replace broken ones. But if i do that i'll post it right here so no one goes to the thrift shop and 'fishes behind the net'.

If i find some cheap 18w 930s i can ship those, those are much easier to handle and pack. But the last time i found those in a thrift shop was 6 months ago, and they were 927s. Is 927 good too?
