Another long one. This really makes me feel old for some reason.
Not only on this platform, but also in the real world, I find myself bombarded by people who think they know more than they do. Not knowing something is great, it makes learning opportunities. We all don't know things, no one knows everything. I feel like it is human nature to make it seem to others like we know more than we do, and that leads to us making assumptions with the finite knowledge that we have. Many times, educated assumptions are fine, but if you don't have 100% of the entire worlds' knowledge, then your assumptions can't be 100% accurate all the time, it just isn't possible.
They say the best doctors are the ones who aren't afraid to say "I don't know" to their patients. I think this also goes for normal people in everyday life as well. Many people on this platform have tons of knowledge about lots of stuff, and we all can see that by the way they act. You don't have to act like you have more knowledge than you do, because what you already know is still impressive.
It happens to me too often where I will catch myself saying something that I don't actually know is true, and this has happens to people on this platform as well, some more than others of course. However, there are ways to avoid spreading misleading information.
You don't have to listen to me, I am some random kid on the internet, but I think it would be really great if some people on here read this:
• No one is always right, including me and YOU! • Many things aren't absolute, and may be opinion-based. • If you don't know, SAY SO! (It rhymes!) • If you are making assumptions, say "I think" or "I may be wrong" so we know. • If someone is being rude to you, you don't have to be rude back. Be the better person, be nice, and end it.
This is just my opinion! Again you don't have to listen to me. It would be really nice here if everyone was nice, but they aren't, so it really isn't.
