Here is the switch of a manual preheat fluorescent undercabinet light that I got recently. It appears to be the Edwin Gaynor 1170 switch. I had to remove it from the fixture for cleaning, and in the process of prying the switch away from the tabs that hold it in place, the thing just snapped apart. So now I need to fix it somehow. Fortunately, it seems pretty easy to put back together. Just set the white switch thing in the main body and then snap on the metal frame. Well, it would be that simple, if it weren’t for a weird small metal piece. Maybe I’m crazy, but I can’t figure out where this piece goes. Has anyone here successfully been able to put a switch like this back together? If so, where does that little metal doodad go? Thanks for the help!
