I'm currently speaking with Francis (the guy on eBay with all of the SOX fixtures) about purchasing another 200w HPS FCO Medium cobrahead,

He sent me this pic of the inside of a 200w HPS GE M-400r2 with a CWA ballast?

Anyway, I was wondering whether anyone could decode this info for me (mainly date and ballast type).

Not at the top of my head, however it’s definitely pre-1989.

There may be a date code on the capacitor or the components inside the ignitor. In electronic components the date code is usually YearYearWeekWeek

I have a few GE M4A2 FCO from 1997 and in them the label is different - it is "GE Lighting Systems" in the modern GE font, and the date is printed in plain. Dont know how to date yours

Yeah, I can decode modern tags just fine, but this one was just older.

Looks like LY on the tag to me, which is November 1985.

The light indeed has a CWA ballast, 120x208x240x277v.
