A bit of an update... « on: October 05, 2025, 04:29:27 AM » Author: LightsoftheWest
I've been needing to say this for a little while now...

So about a month ago, I went down to Arizona from Washington state to begin college. I'm sure some of you have probably noticed a significant decline in my activity online recently as well as no new uploads since August. It's because I'm either loaded down by homework (mechanical engineering major here) or spending my time socializing. I'm letting you all know because I may not be around when any of you need help with anything (identifying fixtures, etc). I really wish it didn't have to be this way, but I'll do my very best to hop on at least once every other day. You guys have been, are, and always will be my friends.

LG's #1 North American light fixture identifier

**If anyone wants to learn more about any company or product you've never heard of before, do please leave a comment saying so on one of my gallery pictures or by PM, and I'd be happy to give a thorough explanation.**

I can relate, I just started college for electrical engineering (also about a month ago) and I haven't really been able to make as many drawings as I normally would.

Focus on the engineering study for now, it will pay off. Even when "measured" by your overall contribution or help for the people here, including when nobody here won't hear or read anything from you for those few years...

Best Wishes !

You are right in that you take the most of your time now to focus on your life and your studying. We are here, whether you write and post or only quietly read, or take a break completely (important too !)

Besides being a lighting community, some people here are into different areas of engineering too (me in electrical & power electronics). I guess you may occasionally come for consultation...

Best of luck Ian!

I majored in mechanical engineering as well in university and I think during those years I wasn't as active on LG, especially when the homework and studying piled up.

Having access to the machine shop at school was pretty handy for some of my lighting projects, still wish I do sometimes.

Take care Ian. If you get the time, don’t forget to share any lighting stuff you find down there.
