| Looking at it now unlit, it looks more like just a rough silica tube moulding?, is this actually in the glass itself or on the surface of it?

| Interesting 🤔, maybe the environment they were made in wasn’t as pure as it was with European manufacturing?, and airborne particles stuck to the tube when still hot from moulding? I haven’t seen this before?

| Shouldn’t be a problem in your enclosed fixture?, although it would be sad to loose the lamp prematurely? 🤔

| The lens of my tracklight is made from regular soda lime glass. It would break in the case of arctube explosion.

Somewhere There Is Light(ning)

| I have a 70 MH lamp (GE if I remember right) that has the same inside...I always just assumed it was halide salts deposited on the glass when it cooled after running.

| The fact that the same dirt don't going downward, meaning it is outside the arctube wall rather than inside.

If it’s a genuine track light for halide, I’d guess it’s designed to contain a tube rupture 🤔
