Lighting Project Revealed « on: December 25, 2025, 04:40:53 AM » Author: suzukir122
Merry Christmas.
Here's the Lighting Project that I finished almost 9 months ago: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7AltFlkblTc.
I still have to finish adjusting the shelves, and I'm probably going to replace one of those 25w Supersavers in the fixtures downstairs.
Other than also repairing some of the damages from the Cord-mates, (and cleaning loft balcony debris and my beard hair, off of the fixtures on the
balcony) I'm pretty much done.
All 11 ballasts in use have the same part number: 446-LR-TC-P.
Two are Thermo-matic, and 3 are Thermo-matic X. All ballasts are for F40T12 or F34T12 lamps, so I'm keeping an eye on any ballast overheating that
may occur. I've been using all fixtures daily for almost 9 months now, and my electric bill and usage actually... decreased... significantly ever since.
I was expecting quite the opposite to occur, especially while the temperatures plummeted and heater usage began.
All in all, I'm happy with it, even though the fixtures look a bit bulky, it's not all that bad to me. The upstairs fixtures are slightly slimmer than
the downstairs fixtures... upstairs fixtures formally T8 LED, and the downstairs formally T8 fluorescent. (I still have the T8 electronic ballasts that
came with those.) I'm using smart plugs, so all of the lighting in my living room and bedroom, can be turned on or off with my phone. Awesome for when
friends want to watch movies or play video games... I don't have to get up from the couch to turn off any of my fixtures.
This is something I planned on doing for 5 years, and I finally made it happen, even if it doesn't look the best, 8 months ago.
Halophosphate Cool White... also not the best for a living room environment... but most certainly unique on it's own, and it still looks awesome,
especially in person. The lighting side is complete enough for me now, so I'm now focused more on buying TVs, coffee tables, bean bag chairs and couches,
all as time goes on.
I'm still on the fence of possibly creating two light tables upstairs, but it's looking like that won't happen. I plan on making a start up video of all
my fixtures, soon.

Not a big fan of LEDs… (except for indicator purposes).

@sol, that truly means a lot! Thank you man! Merry Xmas! Believe it or not, this set up looks better in person, despite the slightly crooked shelves.
I've been using this set up since 8 months ago, (Almost 9 months) which is why all of those lamps have fair-weather end blackening,
and also electrode filament debris... classic sign of heavy usage! Even though the shelves will never fall, I may need to adjust them a bit
more to get a more professional look from this, although it does look pretty impressive as is.
I figured I'd go ahead and reveal this set up since it's Christmas, and since things are beginning to finally get better.
Also, thanks @High Intensity and @joseph_125... Joseph helped me find the fixtures downstairs and recommended
I use those wooden boards you see behind the floating shelves, which helped to act as a bridge for the studs that were
two feet apart from each other... and High Intensity helped me find those former LED fixtures upstairs.
