Completely LED free buildings « on: April 05, 2026, 10:25:32 AM » Author: Emersyn
I was wondering, in 2026, how rare are completely LED free buildings?

The only building that I can think of that has absolutely no LEDs, and is quite nostalgic of the 2010s, is the science and math building at my school (built in 2009) which is lit completely with 4x2 troffers (3 lamp) and several 2 and 1 lamp wraparounds. They have been consistently relamping the hallways with fluorescent so I don't think they're going to retrofit any time soon.

There's a goodwill near me that has almost no LEDs, except for a strip in the jewelry box.
There's also a Khol's near me that is mostly fluorescent, but they do have a few LEDs here and there as spotlights.

I like math, lighting, computers and electronics(but I detest fractions and pointless ruinage of lovely old stuff). LEDs should be better thought out. they are actually quite good if they are good quality. They should be built to a long actual life not to a cheap price!

There's a museum in San Francisco that I went to back in 2021 that still has HID low-bays in use as well as mostly incandescent in all the display cases.
