Felt the the ground shake? « on: April 19, 2026, 11:37:30 AM » Author: SussexEuroSOX
I was just walking from the shops and back with my mum, and I was 3 quarters of the way home and I felt the ground shake  ??? I live in the countryside… there aren’t many big vans or lorries around and the nearest quarry is near Steyning, several miles away, and I’m not sure if it’s as active as it used to be. My only guess is an earthquake, but I did feel a bit light headed after so, maybe it was just lack of Something or other.

Bit nervous…

Nothin' here in Rugby. Maybe just a slight move from the Plates.

It’s started shaking again lately…… Luckily it hasn’t hit directly, but I really wish it would just stop already……

@SussexEuroSOX
Yes, it was an earthquake.
The city I live in had just barely managed to avoid them up until now, but in 2024 we finally became directly affected…
There was hardly any physical damage, but even a little more shaking is enough to be traumatic……

Wasn't there some bigger earthquake recently in Japan? Then even if you were further away, even when attenuated, the shake may have reached you...

Damn it!!!! First I was terrified by the earthquake in Aomori, then the devastating earthquake in Venezuela sent chills down my spine, and now there's been a third devastating earthquake in Kumamoto!

I seriously can't take this anymore...

For those of you living in earthquake-prone regions like Indonesia or California, what kind of earthquake preparedness measures do you have in place?
