Did AEL use Cree diodes for their street lights? « on: May 05, 2026, 11:11:07 PM » Author: Lightingeye60
I’m wondering if AEL used to use Cree diodes for their Autobahns because they are going purple, and I’ve seen the older first generation and 4 flow Cree LED bulbs go purple too. So, from 2017 to 2019, did AEL use those Cree diodes, or did they use diodes from another manufacturer? I know the latest versions use Philips diodes?? At least that’s what I’ve heard.

So, is it positive that AEL used Cree diodes for some of the Autobahns. It seems like whoever adhesion was used for older Cree diodes was not very good. When I see the older first generation Cree LEDs still in service I often see some purpling in them. My Texas Roadhouse location has a bunch of purple 2700K Cree LEDs (all used to be warm white but they are going purple).
