I'm in talks with the new owner of The Genesis. I've made a deal with him... I will be purchasing back my sportcar within the next few months. I had far too many plans for that car before unexpectedly having to sell it. He has done some more custom work to it, including installing the new TurboXS blow off valve that I gave him as part of the purchase. That car was a very fun car, and I enjoyed working on it under my Metal Halide lit garage. I want to get back to doing this again, especially during the cooler months. Now that I will be working at a much better job, I can work on doing more work to it once I purchase it back, including more engine enhancements, possibly a complete engine rebuild, once I find more friends willing to help with this, etc. So yeah... it's time for me to get my car back. It will be awesome owning that car again. ... but this time, I will not miss out on car meets or car shows.

Nice the current owner is whiling to sell it back to you. At some point down the road you should get an another but newer Genesis as a complementary vehicle (like ones for commuting, the other for leisure). I think the styling of the recent models is pretty appealing.

@Econolite03, I agree. The sedans and the SUV's... whenever I see a Genesis, I can distinguish it from other cars fairly quickly. They look very nice. Maybe someday I will, as a daily commuter. With this new job I just got, it's not entirely impossible to get to that point... maybe it could happen. It'll be so awesome being back in my Metal Halide lit garage again... I have not been in that garage since I sold the Genesis.

Also heard they're decently reliable.

My neighbor has a 2025 G80 in Capri Blue... very distinctive look, and a fun drive. Would definitely look into it if you have the money at some point, @suzukir122 !

You know... with the job I'm about to get, it's not entirely impossible, given time... I might be able to save up for one. Maybe. It would be awesome having two Genesis's... my original sport car, mainly for car meets, shows, and spirited racing, (only when LEGAL to do so, in a controlled environment where racing is suppose to happen...  ) and the newer 2025 G80, or maybe even the previous ones. The G70 is very nice as well. Spirited racing could certainly happen with those too. If I were to buy either one though, custom work will also have to be done to it as well. I've watched the videos of the new G80 and the engine sounds pretty nice... maybe I'm the only one here, but, I'd like it if the engine were a bit louder, with more turbo spools especially. I'd do custom work (with friends of course) to enable even more horsepower out of the engine, much like with my Genesis Coupe.

The first-gen G80 from 2016-2020 can be bought for fairly inexpensive ($20-25K), and they had an optional V8 engine. However, they're not super common. Those also are pretty reliable. The interior on the new ones is far better though.

@LightsoftheWest, knowing me, I'd probably go with the twin turbo V6 over the V8 engine, unless the V8 engine is turboed as well, which would be absolutely insane. The interiors of the G70 and the G80 (G80 especially) definitely look very nice. Saving up $20,000 to $50,000 is not impossible with the job I just got, though it would definitely take time. I'm also going to implement an idea regarding food, to help me save up much more within a shorter amount of time. (This will hurt my "what'd you eat today" thread, since I'm about to cancel out all restaurant foods until further notice... I plan on cooking all my meals at home.)

Learning more about my Genesis, from what the current owner has told me, he apparently did some work to the interior lighting, changing them to color changing LED that he can supposedly control with a remote. I'll have to look more into this, once I purchase back the car. For the headlights, he replaced the 6,000k HID's, supposedly with the other HID bulbs I had in the glove box, which were 5000k HID's. The reason why I decided not to use those 5,000k HID's, was because of how much dimmer they were, surprisingly... so I'll have to see if maybe those HID lamps needed to be broken in, which would explain why they were so dim. It seems as if he likes those HID's better, so I guess maybe they got brighter the more they saw usage. Hopefully those interior lights aren't stuck color changing. Great for car meets I guess, but that's it. If they aren't stuck color changing, I'll have no problem keeping those interior lights LED.

Genesis is back in my Metal Halide lit garage... but... it does need some work. Luckily I've got car savy friends, so I plan on getting them to help me out, as well as fellow Genesis Coupe enthusiasts. Still sounds nice, but there is exhaust rattle and vibration. This needs to be fixed as well, and I plan on installing an aftermarket exhaust system for it sometime soon. But for now, it will stay in my garage.
