| Hello, everyone! Thank you for creating such a wonderful resource of lighting fixtures. My grandfather, John Frier, worked at GE as a lighting applications engineer for decades, and he shared his passion for lighting with his kids and us grandkids. His 97th birthday party is this weekend, and my family decided we'd make it lighting-themed. I suggested we make a matching game for the party: match pictures of the fixtures from his time at GE to the names of the fixtures. I genuinely can't overstate how excited Mom and I were to find this incredibly well-organized forum, which let us search for exactly what we needed. (Mom also was happy to see the fixtures she wrote about when she did copyediting for GE--particularly the Powerfloods and the high-masts.)
My grandfather lit Wrigley Field (and other stadiums), the Statue of Liberty, the Hoover Dam, and the King of Morocco's golf course, and as a child, I was convinced he knew everything. I'm sure that he will still beat me on matching fixtures to names, even though he's been retired for thirty-some years.
